People v. Reed (San Francisco Superior Court), 1994
Randy Sue Pollock won her first acquittal in a murder case after the jury deliberated for just 40 minutes before acquitting Ms. Pollock’s client accused in the beating death of a 10-month-old boy.
Ms. Pollock defended Vincent Reed, who was charged with the murder of one of three children under the care of Rosetta Sykes, the woman Reed was living with. Ms. Pollock called several witnesses to the stand who contradicted the woman’s claim that she never hit the child, and he was vindicated of the charges.
